A huge number of people are part of our parish ministry, involved in organising and running every aspect of parish life. Unfortunately we don’t have space to include everyone on this page, but it does give a few of the key contacts who will be delighted to help you to get more involved in the life of the parish.
Our parish is served by a team of priests and deacons who work closely together for the mission of the parish. We are blessed by a number of retired priests who also help with the life of the parish.
Fr David Savoury is parish priest of the Taunton Vale parishes.
Fr Noriel Salvador is the assistant priest.
Deacon Trevor Jones is our parish deacon.
Deacon Ed Channing is our retired deacon who continues to run a number of prayer groups and opportunities as well as supporting the life of our parish in many other ways.
Diz Horne is the parish administrator for the Taunton Vale Catholic parishes. She works in the office at St George’s from 9am to 1pm Monday, 9am to 2pm Tuesday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Fridays.
Our parish vision team consists of a mix of parishioners with a gift for strategic thinking: Anne Twort, Jon Rata, Simon Wilkins, Nyasha Mazonde, Richard Sprague, Camila Borges Da Costa, Debbie Hartstone and Robert Zelazik. We are currently looking at a process to listen to the views of all parishioners in setting our strategic goals and ensuring that we live out our mission, given by Christ to His Church.
Our fabric and finance team have a broad range of skills in accountancy, property, law and management. They draw up the annual budget and monitor this, as well as preparing and overseeing our regular five year plan for maintenance of our buildings.
Iwona Silverio is the parish treasurer for the Taunton parishes. Chris Shackleton is treasurer for the Wellington and Wivelicombe churches. Robert Zelazik is gift aid secretary for our parishes.
The other members of our finance team are Raimondo De Simone, Sue Morkane, Paul Tighe, Richard Antliff, Fr David Savoury and Doug Lowe. Members serve a three-year term which is renewable. We welcome nominations for new members of the team.
Our communications team of Ben McGrail and Jon Rata work on our internal and external communications.
